Baby Deer Won’t Leave the Side of the Human That Saved Her Life

Being outside a lot pays off, such is the case of Lithuanian outdoorsman Darius Sasnauskas who whilst outside one day got to witness one of natures most beautiful moments, but events quickly took a turn for the worse. Darius was lucky enough to spot the birth of two baby deer whilst in his backyard in Yellowstone National Park, US, but one of them was injured and was soon left behind by her family.

With so many predators around the deer didn’t stand a chance so he decided to bring her home, “I do not support keeping wild animals as pets, but this was [a] special situation,” he writes in his video description. After nursing her back to health so that she could walk again the bond between the deer and Darius has grown incredibly strong, so much so that when Darius tried to release the deer she would keep running back to him!

Darius spotted the birth of two baby deer in his backyard but quickly realised something was wrong when one of them started to limp.

Unable to keep up with her family they left her behind, leaving her to fend for herself. With so many predators around Darius had to help.

He brought her home and made a custom leg brace using an oatmeal box. He fed her every 4 hours and slowly the deer began to see Darius as her mother. She soon started to walk again…

Despite their adorable bond Darius knew that nobody could replace her real mum.

He attempted to return her to the wild but the baby deer kept running back.

But by chance one evening the mother and her family showed up again and the baby deer joined them. Darius has since spotted the family running around, looking healthy and enjoying life in the wild.
