Old Photos Reveal the Fascinating Process Behind Animating Alice in Wonderland

These old photos reveal the fascinating process behind the animation of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Actor Kathryn Beaumont who voiced Alice was also the animators real life model who they based all of Alice’s movements and expressions on when animating. Working from a the Disney Studio the classical animation took artists up to a week to produce 23-24 seconds of animation.

Walt Disney himself chose Beaumont to be the voice of Alice when she was just ten years old. After she finished studying and graduated she went on to become a teacher for more than thirty years. Since then she has been named a “Disney Legend” by the Walt Disney Company.
