Skier Miraculously Survives a 1,600 Foot Fall down the Side of a Mountain

Attempting to ski at such a high altitude comes with its risks as skier Ian McIntosh found out recently when he lost control and went into a free fall down the snowy side of a mountain, falling an incredible 1,600 feet. Thankfully he survived the fall, signalling that he was ok by waving his arm one he finally stopped tumbling.

To minimise risk McIntosh had thoroughly studied the route he would take before hand however an unseen five foot deep trench just moments into his descent completely threw him off. Luckily McIntosh was able to deploy his airbag in order to prevent serious trauma injuries. Check it out below.
