Artist Takes 20 Different Drugs and Illustrates Their Effects with Colourful Self Portraits

Graphic designer Brian Pollett, also known as Pixel-Pusha recently took on a project that tested both his own boundaries and those of the law after he took illegal substances in order to see what effect it would have on his art. The entire project took 20 days to complete and saw the San Francisco-based artist take 14 of the 20 substances you see represent below in order to “create opportunities to educate, whether related to psychedelics or art.”

The end result is some truly vivid and surreal self portraits that offer an insight into the effects that each of the drugs has on the mind. For Pollett the experience was fascinating, enabling him to create some of his purest and most honest work to date. More info on the project can be found here.
