When it comes to spring there's nowhere else in the world quite like Japan. Thanks to it's large numbers of blossom trees each year spring becomes a magical season of falling petals, so much so that cherry blossom is considered Japan's national flower.
The Japanese take the blossoms arrival very seriously and even have a forest dedicated to the tree. They also track it's arrival as it makes its way northwards through the country in a process they refer to as “sakura zensen”.
