Forget your traditional coffee table, this conceptual design called LA Table by creative a designer Alexandre Chapelin is all you need. Inspired by the typography of ocean floors, lakes and rivers this is another piece of furniture that’s part of a bigger collection known as the Lagoon series.
Each table begins life as a single block of marble before it is carved to mimic the sea floor as it gradually descends. A vibrant blue resin is then poured onto the marble using a technique that creates ripples to mimic the movement of water. Chapelin refuses to adopt a more industrial approach to the creations of these tables meaning each of them is hand made and no two of them will ever be alike.
