Japanese Photographer Captures Playful Photos of Tokyo’s Stray Cats

Stray cats might be a rare site here, most of the cats are well cared for by their humans, but in Tokyo’s shitamachi area there are hundreds if not thousands of stray felines roaming the streets and Japanese photographer Masayuki Oki loves nothing more than photographing them in candid photos that will melt your heart.

Through doing so the photographer has compiled an entire collection of photos called busayan, which can be translated to “ugly cat”, and yet he’s got nothing but love for the furry felines as they strike goofy and often extremely adorable poses for the camera. Eventually Masayuki would love to photograph all of Japan’s stray kitties but for now he continues to stay around the shitamachi area. You can keep up to date with his cute cat portraits over on Instagram.
