Not so long ago we posted about a futuristic elevated bus concept in China that promised to rid public transport of delays by travelling over the top of traffic jams. The prototype was revealed at the 19th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo and although it received a lot of attention nobody from the press we’re pretty sure everyone expected it to remain a concept, but they’ve actually made one!.
The TEB has just taken passengers on its very first test drive in Qinhuangdao, Hebei. It may have only been along 300 metres of track but the fact that they’ve already built a functioning prototype is still impressive. Developers believe it will take around a year for them to finish and judging by the progress so far we’ve got no reason to doubt them.

Three months later they’ve already built a functioning prototype!
Developers believe it will be another year before the TEB is finished
