Originally a symbol of purity and martial eligibility for Ukrainian women which involved floral headdresses, a Slavic workshop of stylists that work under the name of Treti Pivni have been giving new meaning to the tradition to help remind Ukraine of it’s identity and culture whilst going through troublesome times.
During a time in which the country faces continuing political and physical pressure from Russia it’s this sort of imagery that celebrates and breathes new life into a beautiful tradition is needed more than ever. However, no matter their political motivation or message there’s no denying that each of the portrait shots and headdresses are beautiful. More info can be found over on Facebook.
