When you already hold the title for having the tallest building in the world there’s only one thing you can do, build an even taller one! and that’s exactly what Dubai plans to do after it recently began construction on ‘The Tower’.
Dubai is currently home to the world’s tallest building the Burj Khalifa which stands at an impressive 2,700ft (828 metres) and whilst the official height for The Tower which will be located in Dubai’s Creek Harbour still hasn’t been confirmed you can bet it will be even taller.
Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, who’s also responsible for the World Trade Center PATH Station, the new tower will have a 360 degree observation deck that will provide visitors with stunning views of the surrounding city. With an estimated cost of $1 billion The Tower is set to be completed in time for the Expo 2020 trade fair in Dubai, which means the Burj Khalifa can hold on to it’s title for a little longer yet.
