Whilst on a recent trip to the Talamanca Mountains in Costa Rica, photographer Jess Findlay managed to capture these stunning images of a fiery-throated hummingbird proudly showing off its beautiful iridescent feathers and whilst we only see the final photos that made the cut, the process behind capturing them took several hours.
With a telephoto lens Findlay patiently waited for the small birds to position themselves at the perfect angle for their feathers to reflect the light before snapping away with his camera. As you can see from the photos below all that patience paid off. You can see more of his work on Instagram.
