Designer Creates See-Through 3D Printed Prosthetics Made from Titanium

The only downside to prostheses is that they’re expensive to produce and that’s something that designer William Root is trying to fix with a 3D scanned and printed Exo Prosthetic leg.

The process involves a 3D printer, 3D scanner and 3D modelling software to create prostheses from laser-sintered titanium, not only significantly lowering the cost of production but also the amount of time it takes to produce them.

Not only do the prostheses look awesome there’s also the option for the wearer to customise their design before it’s time to print. To learn more about the process and Root’s design make sure to check out his Behance.
