Vilnius Unveils Spectacular Christmas Tree Covered in 50,000 Lights

Now that christmas is less than a month away cities around the world are unveiling their festive celebrations an on November 26, the city of Vilinus, Lithuania, unveiled an impressive Christmas Tree within its Cathedral Square, illuminated by more than 50,000 lightbulbs that are cast over the surrounding Christmas market.

Following the success of last years tree which was voted as one of the best in the world according to The Guardian the city has this year tried to outdo itself again and from the looks of it they succeeded.

The Mayor of Vilnius, Remigijus Šimašius, described the festive decor and tree a “something from a fairy tale,” and we have to agree. The tree itself stands at an impressive 27 metres high and 50 metres wide covering a total of 2,500 square metres and when lit up at night can be seen by those flying over Vilnius.
