15 Photos That Prove Quokkas Are the Happiest Animals in the World

Although one of the lesser well known creatures in the animal kingdom the adorable quokka has every right to be called the world’s happiest animal and we’ve got the photos to prove it. The quokka is a marsupial that’s native to south western Australia were they can be found on a handful of small islands and is well known for its friendly and inquisitive behaviour, not always a good thing when its on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

Despite their friendly behaviour making them vulnerable the plus side is that their easily photographed with many people even managing to take selfies with them, just like the ones you see below. It’s important to remember though that if you’re caught feeding or handling a quokka you can be fined and whilst taking a quokka selfie is something we’d all love to do it’s important that these adorable animals are protected in the future.
