After a homeless man living in Spain was invited by a local salon to come and have his air cut he could never have imagined the positive effect it would have, not only on his appearance but on his outlook on life. All it took was a hair cut, a fresh new outfit and a shave for Jose Antonio or as he’s known to locals, Jose, to transform into a classy looking hipster that’s hardly recognisable from his former self.
For the past 25 years Jose has been living on the streets and is well known in Palma which is what prompted salon owner Salva Garcia to invite Jose in to come and get cleaned up. Jose sat in the chair and asked for the mirror to be covered until Garcia was finished and when it was uncovered he began to sob, overcome with happiness. Afterwards, dressed in his new outfit, Jose hit the town and left locals speechless as they hardly recognised him. Since then Jose has been receiving financial assistance from an unnamed company and is no longer living on the streets. This wasn’t just a haircut for Jose, it was a turning point in his life.

He was well known to locals and could often be found helping people park their cars in the main square for a small wage
Local salon owner Salva Garcia invited Jose to come in for a free haircut and a clean up
Which was certainly easier said than done due to how scruffy Jose’s hair had become
After a lot of chopping and cutting his haired and beard were dyed to make him look younger
And he was provided with a new shirt and pair of red jeans to complete his new ‘hipster’ makeover
Jose asked the salon to cover the mirror until they had finished…
…and when it was time for the big reveal he was so taken back he began to sob.
Jose’s transformation was so incredible he could barely recognise himself, asking “My God… is this me?”
Loving his new look Jose hit the town where locals barely recognised him!
Jose is now off of the streets with the help of an unnamed company and is receiving financial assistance.
“It wasn’t just a change of look. It changed my life,” he told Spanish news reporters.
