Powerful Animation Shows How Society Destroys Our Creativity

As soon as we’re old enough to go to school and start learning we are told that we need to work as hard as we can now so that when we are older we can get a good job, but as this award-winning Pixar animation highlights, this often forces us down a narrow path with little room for creativity.

The 7-minute-long animation made using the open-source 3D program Blender was put together by Madrid-based animators Rafa Cano Méndez and  Daniel Martínez and highlights how the daily grind of a 9 to 5 job eventually wears you down as well as showing why it’s important as a parent to let kids find their own path in life. In a society that forces us to specialise in a single skill in order to earn money, this animation serves as a reminder that creativity shouldn’t be stifled.
