If you’re out hunting only armed with a bow and arrow and a black bear takes a sudden disliking to you there’s not a lot you can do other than stand your ground and scream – exactly what Richard Wesley did whilst out hunting in Canada.
The bear was likely unaware of Richard until the wind picked up and the bear smelt him. Clearly startled by his presence the bear charges at him to warn him off and Richard reacts in the best possible way – likely saving his life. Luckily nobody was hurt and they each went their separate ways, but if it had been a grizzly bear things could have ended far worse.
