Photographer Uses Toy Delorean for Amazing ‘Back to the Future’ Photoshoot

Photographer and digital artist Felix Hernandez is no stranger to working on a miniature scale – just checkout this amazing commercial he made for Audi using a toy car. Now it would appear he’s back, this time using another toy car in the form of a Delorean to recreate a scene from the movie Back to the Future.

Using a 1/18th scale model of the time travelling DeLorean from the hugely popular movie franchise Hernandez set about recreating the moment the vehicle goes back in time, using light painting techniques as well as adding practical effects such as smoke and sparks.

The photoshoot is actually part of a bigger personal project called Famous Movie Cars, of which the DeLorean is the third car to be shot. Also joining the DeLorean is the Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazard and the Ghosbusters Car. The project explores famous cars from Hernandez’s own childhood in which he aims to recreate the drama and magic that they once portrayed on the big screen. You can see more of Hernandez’s work on his website and Facebook.
