Take a wonder around Redwood City, California, and you’re likely to notice something isn’t quite right in the sunshine state, particularly with its shadows. They don’t seem match the objects that they’re cast from as bike racks cast shadows of flowers and strange insect-like figures – but what’s going on!?.
The unusual shadows are the work of graphic artist Damon Belanger who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. Commissioned to add 20 fake shadows to the Redwood City area in order to inspire more creativity Belanger’s works turn mundane and everyday objects into exciting and intriguing works of art.
