3D Carpet of New York City by Shift Studio Has Different Pile Heights to Show Man Made and Natural Areas

This cool 3D New York City carpet designed by shift studio from Cape town features a detailed map of NYC, almost every street and garden is included in the design and it even shows the different landscape heights and the diversity of the landscape.

The 3D NYC carpet shows the South side of Manhattan with a little bit of the surrounding areas and neighbourhoods, the most notable feature of this design is obviously central park with all the green grass and trails passing through.

The beauty of this carpet design is that it uses different heights to show man made creations and natural landscape. The blue areas are the water or ocean surrounding the island and are the lowest, the black lines are the streets that map the whole city. The grey is buildings and other concrete areas with little pools of green in them symbolising the gardens. The dark green areas are for trees and parks spread around NYC.

This is a very limited product with only 25 items made, so if you want yours, you can get it on shift’s website. The carpet measurements are 2m X 3m and is made from 100% wool. Check out the rest of the photos below:
