Daniel Rozin’s moving mirror will wave back at you

Does your mirror smile back at you? Daniel Rozin’s moving mirror will wave back at you every time you have at it. He is a New York-based artist who makes incredible art installations and sculptures that respond to the movement of any viewer in a fantastic way that will just leave you a little speechless.

The mirrors that you are about to see below have a life of their own and will do just what you do, but from a different perspective. Their “life” consists of wooden pegs, laminated rings on a circular band, or even pieces of trash or recycled objects. They are all moved by a custom-made software which responds to the video sensors that Rozin carefully places inside his artistic installation.

This way you’ve got a sculpture that acts like a mirror, but it’s not a mirror, it’s something a thousand times more puzzling. What inspires the artist? In his own words: “My inspiration comes mostly from science and scientific concepts like evolution and laws of nature and geometry. I am also very inspired buy painting styles and painters of almost all styles.”

Enjoy!
