Well, yes, it’s a complex feeling, but it’s real and it can happen to anyone who discovers artist Jesuso Ortiz’s artworks.
The Spain-based creative imagines cute characters as a combination of crayon lines and real food. The combinations are incredible and the joined perspectives create an incredible effect on the eye. A three-dimensional real fruit, also very vibrant in colour is put together with a minimalist type of drawing, creating something fresh, contemporary and with a dart of spontaneity. Much like a sketch, only it is more than a sketch.
We just love this type of art which really challenges what you’d think of art. It’s no longer just oil paintings and studied musical notes. The contemporary art world is continuously working on coming out with new forms of expressing oneself. Not all of this will stay, but we think that in time, we’ll get another type of art to sit there, quietly, among the other classic 7 queens. Aren’t you excited for this?
