28.5 Litre Fiat Engine Starts for the First Time in 100 Years

Check out this video showing the rebuilding of a monstrous 104-year-old 28.5 litre Fiat S76 engine. The engine was rebuilt by Duncan Pittaway and his team and was originally intended to start for the first time at FoS this year however due to setbacks it’s startup was rather more humble, but certainly no less impressive.

Thanks to this cool video put together by Stefan Marjoram we get to see the car start up for the first time, and the sound is insane. Bare in mind that this engine puts out around 300 bhp which is more than double your average car of today – making it a seriously impressive piece of engineering.

Turn up the volume for full effect!
