There’s a Place in Costa Rica Where More than 900 Rescued Dogs Roam Freely

If you would consider yourself a bit of a dog lover then you should probably add Costa Rica’s Territorio de Zaguates to the list of places you need to visit in your lifetime for one very good reason. Run by volunteer’s the refuge for rescued dogs is located in the mountains of Santa Bárbara in Costa Rica’s Heredia province and let’s it’s 900 canine residents roam freely during the day before returning to their shelters and beds.

Appropriately titled ‘Land of the Strays’ the program is open to the public and always welcomes visitors to come and visit the excitable dogs. There’s even an option to go hiking and the staff will arrange a group on dogs to come along with you!. If you’re ever near by you should seriously visit this place.
