Artist Carves Family of Miniature Elephants into a Single Pencil

Although most of us battle to use a pencil without snapping their fragile tips artist Cindy Chinn is able to carve entire sculptures from the notoriously them, using the lead and graphite encased within whilst also making full use of their wooden exteriors too.

In her latest piece of work that was commissioned for the California-based Epiphany Elephant Museum Chinn has created a scene in which a family of elephants explore a tiny landscape complete with trees and foliage.

Working at such a miniature scale you’d think that Chinn would perhaps skip some of the smaller details however when viewed up close even the elephants skin has be intricately carved to look as realistic as possible. You can see more of the artists work on Facebook and her website.
