What It Takes to Make a Great Animated Movie

If you believe that animation is a genre then all is forgiven because director Brad Bird is here to change that, proving why animation isn’t just light humour, dancing and songs and should actually be treated for what it is, an art form.

Most famous for his work on classic animation films such as Ratatouille and The Incredibles in this video edited by Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr Bird offers us a masterclass in what it is that makes animation so great and how some movies nail the art form whilst others completely miss the mark.

Rather than opt for the instant action animation that reveals everything to the audience way too soon, Bird prefers to slow things down, taking his time to explore the moment. Checkout the video below.
