You would think that artwork often imitates life and real world events, subjects and locations are the ones that artists end up putting on canvas however others argue that it’s actually life that imitates art, or as Oscar Wilde once said in the opening sentence of his essay The Decay of Lying, “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life.”
This in-fact stems from a theory in the philosophical world known as Anti-mimesis that believes people learn about self-expression through the artwork that surrounds them, a theory that seems to work for the most part when you check out the 24 photos below.
