Japan is a country that’s famous for it’s enchanting architecture and culture and one of its most popular destinations is the once capital city of Japan, Kyoto, which attracts tourists thanks to its beautiful cherry blossom trees, traditional architecture and its classic buddhist temples.
Due to its popularity as a tourist hotspot Kyoto is naturally the setting for a lot of photographs and whilst we’ve covered plenty of impressive photographs of the city before the internet seems to have recently fallen in love with one shot in particular captured by photographer Leslie Taylor which presents to us a cobblestoned street in Kyoto with a picture perfect sunset of purple, pink and orange hues as its backdrop.
Silhouetted against that beautiful sky is the world famous 5-story high Yasaka Pagoda, a temple said to have been first built in 592. Taylor specialises in landscape and travel photography and has been lucky enough to call the beautiful country of Japan his home for the last five years. The aforementioned photo is pictured above, but there’s also a selection of other photos for you to check out below. You can see more of Taylor’s photos on his website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
