Guy Uses FaceApp to Turn Classical Museum Artworks into Hilarious Portraits

These days it’s common to put on your best smile or pout for a selfie but classical paintings are from far more serious and much simpler times. There’s also good reason to be serious when posing for a classic painting too, as unlike your front facing camera that will take selfie in classic paintings usually took months to complete – not the sort of thing you want to mess up at the last minute.

With that being said, classical portraits do tend to be a little on the serious side and although we can’t go back to help out artists capture their subject with newer technology we can use it to lighten up existing artworks with hilarious results, just as London-based designer Olly Gibbs did on a recent visit to the Rijksmuseum art museum in Amsterdam.

Using the FaceApp on his smartphone he managed to add smiling grins on some of its most moody and serious artworks with hilarious results.
